Surat: Unable to bear the shock of dropping money and jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh to thieves, also a 68-year-old resident of Rander Road died of cardiac arrest in his ancestral house in a village at Bharuch around Friday.
The dead Prakashchandra Rao along with his spouse Daksha had gone into their own native village Achhaliya at Jhagadiya taluka on May 27 to attend a spiritual service.
In the early hours of Friday, thieves broke into their home and returned with Rs 3 lakh money and silver and gold ornaments worth Rs 22 lakh.
Police stated that the thieves locked the few space from out while they were stabbed and completed the theft.
