Pune: Pimpri police on Wednesday registered a case against a cheater for deceiving a 51-year-old man of Rs 60,000, by selling a scooter purchased by several other people with loans.
The complainant, who runs a hair cut salon, touched the suspect through a friend in March this year.
“The suspect promised to sell new scooters at a price of less than Rs 30,000 of the original costs.
The complainants were told that he would be registered as the owner of the two vehicles,” said a Pimpri police officer.
The suspect told the complainant to pay cash 60,000.
Even though he promised to register a vehicle in the name of the buyer, the suspect began to avoid it.
When a complaintion approached the dealer, he was surprised to find that the vehicle was guaranteed for loans, registered in someone else’s name.
The suspect has been ordered for allegations of cheating and criminal violations of trust under the Criminal Code.
