Thane: A 36-year-old married man from Bhayandar in the Thane Maharashtra district was forced to pay a ransom of more than Rs 6 lakh after he was held by a woman, who had been friends with him through the ‘dating’ application, and he associates, said the police on Monday.
A pine was registered at the Shree Nagar police station on charges of extortion, robbery and other parts of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) after the victim approached the police this morning, but there was no arrest made.
