Thiruvananthapuram: The excise officials in Vamanapuram scope have detained a 64-year-old guy on charges of developing ganja plants around the assumptions of the home that he dwelt.
The officers identified the accused since Francis of all Panniyode close Kattakkada.
He had been taken into custody Tuesday night from his present dwelling area at Panavoor.
The officers have captured two ganja plants which were nine-months older and above eight-feet tall.
Vamanapuram excise stove inspector G Mohankumar stated that the accused had been a bachelor who dwelt at a home owned by his comparative at Panavoor.
The home owner lived in a different house situated nearby.
They obtained a tip-off the accused had been developing ganja plants in the home chemical after which officers from civil apparel were discharged to check the info.
They affirmed that both tall plants which stood close to the nicely on the chemical have been ganja.
It was after the arrest was first made.
“Cultivating ganja plants is a significant offence which may bring a maximum sentence of 10 decades of imprisonment,” Mohankumar stated.
The accused said that the excise officials which he was smoking ganja for the last eight decades.
These plants have been grown from the seeds he obtained from a couple of guest labourers whom he met in a job site this past year.
The owner of the home told the officials who although he’d enquired about the crops, Francis had responded that they had been medicinal plants called Shivamoulithe inspector stated.
The accused was produced before the court Wednesday after that he had been remanded in judicial custody.
