Man killed by ex-tenant & his friend, both arrested

Ghaziabad: A 77-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his former tenant and his accomplice on Tuesday, the police said on Friday.
The accused — Ajay Sharma (32), and his accomplice, Keshav Sharma (20) — have been arrested.
The victim has been identified as Omkar Tyagi from Nandgram, a retired employee of the electricity board, they said.
Police said Tyagi went to meet Ajay on his two-wheeler on Tuesday afternoon and did not return home.
His family members tried to reach him but after failed attempts, they informed the police.
On Wednesday, the police found Omkar lying dead in a vacant plot in Raj Nagar extension.
Next, an FIR was registered and a probe was launched.
The accused had taken him to Noida for drinking in Keshav’s car.
When the trio reached Raj Nagar Extension at 11 pm, the accused strangled him with a piece of cloth and dumped his body in a vacant plot.
Nandgram police station SHO Neeraj Kumar Singh said Ajay had purchased a house in Uttranchal colony from Tyagi for Rs 24 lakh.
Ajay had given Rs 4 lakh to Tyagi while the rest of the money was due.
However, Tyagi was repeatedly asking for the money due to which Ajay felt harassed and killed him, an officer said.
A four-wheeler used in crime and Tyagi’s two-wheeler have been recovered from the accused.
The accused have been booked under Section of 302 (murder) IPC.
They have been sent to judicial custody.
