Bahraich: A man who allegedly killed his 32-year-old wife and injured his brother for suspicion of illegal relationships in a village here, police said on Friday.
The incident took place in the village of Banjaria under the area of the Kotwali Nanpara police station on Thursday night after the police arrested the defendant.
Rajesh Singh killed his wife Rita by combining her throat with sharp-eyed weapons.
His younger brother Brijraj, who rushed to stop him, was also injured and sent for medical care to the Nanpara Public Health Center, said Additional Supervisory (rural) Ashok Kumar.
Initial investigation revealed that the defendant suspected that his wife had a prohibited relationship with his younger brother.
In the complaint of the female father, a case had been registered against the defendant and he had been arrested.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
