Madurai: Bags with 2.93 lakh in the form of wrong cash places by a man in Pandi Koil here on Thursday and accidentally carried by other people returned to legitimate owners.
The bag belonged to P Alagaramy, 62, from the Virudhunagar district.
He got his daughter married a few months ago and saved a cash prize collected during a wedding at home.
The police said that he was not happy with his wife spending the money.
On Thursday, he took RS2.93,707 cash and came to Pandi Koil.
Then, he took lunch in the function of the Pandiaraji family guide.
Alagarsamy, who was the wrong bag there rushed to the Mattouthavani police station and filed a complaint.
Meanwhile, the police family returned to Coimbatore.
Pandiarisan who was watching a new bag as they traveled confirmed that it was not his.
Seeing the money in the bag, Pandiaraji called his friends at the Mattouthavani police station and asked if they received complaints from anyone about the missing bag.
He also told him that he had his bag.
Police personnel from Madurai who collected went to Mattapine in the Dindigul district where Pandiaraji waited, collected a bag and returned it to Alago.
