THANE: The authorities in Maharashtra’s Thane town on Friday detained a 50-year-old man supposedly engaged in a bomb explosion in West Bengal, an officer said.
According to a tip-off, a group by the Thane police’s crime branch nabbed Malik Fakir Mir alias Neya near Thane city railroad station in the early hours, the officer stated.
Mir has been an accused in case of bomb burst filed using all the Basanti police station in Baruipur of West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, assistant commissioner of police (Crime) An T Kadam stated.
An offence under section 307 (attempt to murder) and other applicable terms of the IPC and Arms Act was enrolled at the right time of this episode in March this past year, he explained.
According to the authorities, Mir and three other accused had completed an explosion at a home within an old enmity on March 31, 2020, where five men were wounded.
The West Bengal police had arrested two accused concerned in the offense, it had been said.
The authorities have advised the Basanti authorities about Mir’s arrest and obtained a transit remand because of him personally, the officer added.
