Ranchi/Dumka: A dad of a five-and-half-year-old thalassemic boy in Godda district has been made to pedal 400 kilometers for blood transfusion of the son amid the continuing lockdown since the local mortgage lender doesn’t have any inventory.
Two days before, Dilip Yadava contract labourer within his mid-40s, returned to his village at Mehrama block later traveling to Jamtara sadar hospital together with his kid to its blood transfusion, a distance of 400 kilometers to and fro.
This is actually the 2nd such bike rally for Yadav, that returned in Delhi at mid-February following the lockdown began in the federal capital to prevent transmission of this Covid-19 virus.
Speaking to TOI on the telephone, Yadav said,”This was the next time that I needed to go to Jamtara to a bike taking my son since a drawback blood was not available at the district gas bank.
Before that, I’d gone Dumka as well as Bhagalpur from the remote past, where I understand about bloodstream availability.
Without a getting, I could not employ a personal car.
” In addition, he stated he was in Delhi, there weren’t any transfusion issues as Ram Manohar Lohia or even Safdarjung hospital could readily supply blood.

In his most recent travel, Yadav began biking on May 25 and attained Jamtara on May 27 out of Dumka.
Following the transfusion, it took him two weeks to go back to his village at Mehrama block beneath Thakurganti police station in Mahagama constituency.
“We spent nights in bus racks under a roadside shrub roadside throughout the trip,” he remembered.

Meanwhile, the Godda civil surgeon Dr S Mishra expressed shock within Yadav’s woes.
