MAN raised him near the police station

Pune: A man allegedly burned himself outside the police commissioner on Wednesday apparently for problems related to character verification documents, said an official.
The man, who was in the age group of 40 to 45 years, suffered burns and was rushed to hospital for treatment, said Senior Supervisor of the Bundgarden Yashwant Gawari police station.
According to the preliminary information, the man has a delayed character verification process at the Khadki police station in Pune and the certificate because it was not removed because there were several cases against him, the official said.
“He approached the gate of the police commissioner’s office around 12 noon, suddenly burned himself outside the gate and tried to enter,” he said.
Police personnel at the gate stopped the man and took him to the hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, officially added.
