New Delhi: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for opening more than 300 bank accounts throughout the country and rented it to Cybercrooks from Jamtara to receive money sucked by victims of Cybercrime.
Full investigation has begun to learn how men managed to open many accounts.
According to DCP (southwest) Gaurav Sharma, the defendant has been identified as Ram Pravesh, Hardoi residents at Uttar Pradesh.
He got Rs 5,000 per month for each account used by criminals as commissions, he said.
The police began to follow the suspect after they began an investigation into the complaints of cyber fraud in which a woman was tricked by Rs 98,000.
“In his complaint, the woman said that one of the payments on the Phoneeepe application was not processed, so she was looking for its customer service contacts on Google.
He found a telephone number and was called.
The recipient introduced himself as a company employee and asked him to verify his identity by delivering OTP, which He received his number, “said DCP.
As soon as the woman delivered OTP, the money was deducted.
A registered pine and the team led by the Yogesh Kumar inspector was formed to solve this case.
RAID was carried out, but the defendant was found as a resident of Hardoi and lost.
Technical supervision is installed based on the information received locally and the raids carried out in their home city.
The defendant was finally arrested and Rs 25,000 recovered from him.
“He has revealed many names involved in this pan-Indian racket.
Many other online fraud cases have not been identified,” said DCP.
