Man stabbed his niece to death over a property dispute at TN

Chennai: A man stabbed his nephew on a property dispute at Periyakuppam in Tiruvallur on Monday morning.
Police said the victim, a 27-year-old Shivaranjani, a resident of Periyakuppam, lived with his mother Lokanayagi.
Lokanayagi has an old dispute with his sister Saraswathi for sharing ancestral property.
They often fight this issue.
The Saraswathi family is believed to have asked Lokanayagi to share the property documents he refused.
After one such battle on Monday, Lokanayagi went to the local police station to file a complaint when Saraswathi Balachandar’s husband, 39, entered his house and stabbed Shivaranjani with a kitchen knife when he was working on his computer.
Employed in a private company, he was busy working from home.
Hearing his tears, his neighbor hurriedly saved him and took him to the nearest hospital where he died.
He suffered eight injured piercing in his body and died of excessive bleeding, police said.
According to the police, Shivaranjani, who was busy working did not even know that such a fight occurred on Monday.
The police previously calmed the two families after fighting at the same problem a few months ago, according to neighbors.
Tiruvallur City Police registered a murder case and had arrested Balachandar.
Shivaranjani’s body has been sent for postmortem.
