Man was found to be shot dead on a remote farm in Palakkad

Palakkad: A 26-year-old man was found to be shot dead on a remote farm in Mannarkkad in this North Kerala district, police said here on Monday.
Another man, who allegedly shot him on Sunday night, was found in critical condition after consuming poison in the nearest place this morning, they said.
The victim’s body, Fakruddin aka Sajeer, came from Thiruvizhamkunnu here, found in a pool of blood in the remote recumbent farmhouse.
The incident was revealed after Mahesh, who suspected that he had killed the man, called a friend last night and said he had killed Fakruddin.
“That person, who received a call, looked for the place and found his body.
When he reminded us, we rushed to the place,” said a police officer.
Mahesh, the alleged defendant who consumed poison, was said to be a friend of someone who died and other details was unknown, he said.
He rushed to a private hospital here this morning after he was found to have consumed poisons and then shifted to the government medical college in Kozhikode because his condition was very important.
A ballistic team has reached the place and details of the weapons used for the crime, it is expected to be ascertained after their examination, the official added.
