Ghaziabad: A man based on 24-year-old Delhi who attended a birthday party a friend of a friend allegedly attacked by a knife by the man over a drunken argument.
The victim surrendered on his wounds on Sundays and the suspect was arrested by the Phase 2 police on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as a Chaudhary Nishant.
The police said that the defendant, Mudit, was a resident of Bhangel and used to work in a private company in Noida.
The body is sent for autopsy and the report is awaited.
The police also surrendered the body to the deceased family.
On Saturday, Mudit invited several friends and neighbors to his home to celebrate his wife’s birthday.
At the party, an argument broke out between Mudit and Nishant and the mudit cut Nishant’s throat with a knife.
He then escaped from the place.
Nishant was taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention but he died during treatment on Sunday.
The doctor at the hospital told the police about the incident.
DCP Harish Chander said that based on complaints, FIR was registered against the mudit under the IPC 302 section.
“The defendant was arrested by police noida from the bus holder, when he tried to escape from the city.
The police also restored the weapons used to commit a crime,” DCP said.
Luvkush, the father of the deceased, said in his complaint that his son knew the defendant for the past half a year when they used to work in the same place.
“He told us that he would go home late but we had to know about the incident from friends and police,” he said.
