Coimbatore: After a video of a man watching the television series on his cellphone while riding a viral bicycle on social media, the city traffic police imposed a fine of RS 1,200 in the wrong driver on Friday.
The official source said a 35-year-old N Muthusamy video driver, a resident of Kannappa Nagar in the city, watched the series on his cellphone while driving a two-wheeled vehicle at the second level of Gandhipuram Flyover, which connected Chinnasamy Road and 100ft Road, on Thursday.
Night on his cellphone and circulates the same on social media.
When the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sr.
Senthilkumar knew about the incident on Friday, he instructed officials to track motorists and punish him for traffic violations.
The police then traced Muthusamy, a supervisor with Masala manufacturing company, and imposed a fine of Rs 1.2000 on him.
“He watched the Tamil Serial Rani Rani in the mobile app when he was on his way home in a two-wheeled vehicle.
We have removed the cellphone stand from his bicycle and warned him not to use the phone while driving a vehicle,” said the source.
