LONDON: Scott McTomomay has undergone groin operation and missed the Premier League clashes this Sunday with wolves with his club Manchester United said they “hoped to return soon”.
The 24-year-old midfielder starred in United in whipping Leeds 5-1 in their opening Premier League match but was only able to play a slight part of the part in a 1-1 draw with Southampton last week.
United hopes that the Scottish international makes significant progress during the international break that will come in front of what will be a busy club schedule after that.
“Scott has undergone surgery for an ongoing groin injury which causes significant pain when playing,” said the club in an official statement.
“After trying all other treatment options in pre-season, the operation is deemed necessary to resolve the problem.” We hope to immediately bring it back.
“United have three league matches in September against Newcastle United, West Ham and Aston Villa.
They play West Ham again in the League Cup and start their Champions League group stage campaign.
