LONDON: British Health Secretary Sajid Javid canceled the controversial policy of mandatory vaccines for Frontline NHS and social care staff in the UK on Monday, saying the rules “disproportional” in the light of the omicron variant is less severe than Delta.
An estimated 77,000 NHS NHS staff faced by patients who were not vaccinated had been fired in April, triggering concerns about health services that have lacked paralyzed staff.
Javid tells the House of Commons that “I believe that it is no longer proportional to require vaccination as a requirement for spread through the law”.
It came as thousands of truck drivers protest in Canada against government policy on mandatory shots for truck drivers.
In the UK Royal College of Nursing, the British Medical Association and Trade Union Unison opposed the vaccine mandate due to the impact on the NHS staffing level while some NHS staff began legal action to seek legal reviews.
Mandatory Jab for social care staff in the UK has led around 20,000 staff fired or stop.
This will now be canceled.
