Mangalore University has not framed the syllabus under NEP

Mangaluru: Mangalore University has not resolved a new syllabus under the National Education Policy – 2020 (NEP) for first year’s undergraduate students.
While most other universities in the state are ready with syllabus, MU have not solved the same thing.
Some professors and lecturers have criticized the delay in resolving the syllabus, because the academic year will begin on October 10.
A senior undergraduate professor expressed concern because only a few days left to start the academic year.
“Because content and guidelines are available, syllabus can be completed in one day.
We are not aware of the reason for the delay.
Last minute preparation will cause discomfort for students and teachers,” said a lecturer from the government’s first class college.
Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor PS Yadadithaya told toi that the syllabus was being resolved.
“The syllabus is waiting for the last nod of competent authority including the Study Council.
This is likely to be resolved in a week,” he said.
VC is also chairman of the Faculty of Trade and Management Committee to implement NEP -2020 in the state.
Yadapadithaya stated that the university has received a syllabus formed by the State Committee and some changes will be carried out.
“The syllabus for the second year, the third and fourth graduation will be completed later.
In terms of delay in resolving the syllabus for first year students, we can delay the reopening of higher education for first year students a week,” he said.
Mangalore University will hold workshops throughout the day for all faculty teaching and student representatives to familiarize them with syllabus and NEP-2020.
The four-year NEP graduation program has several outgoing options.
A two-semester settlement candidate produced a certificate, at four semesters of Diploma, the title of Six Semester Settlement and award to complete four years or eight semesters.
The UG program currently has six semesters and is completed in three years.
