Mangaluru: Congress accuses the Graft in New DPR for Waste Collection

Mangaluru: Congress, the main opposition party at Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), was suspected of corruption in the new BJP proposal in power to buy vehicles and submit the same to collect the door waste to the door through private institutions.
At a special board meeting held recently, MCC has approved the DPR to get a vehicle to collect the door waste to the door and outsourcing the operation and maintenance of the system, after a seven-year contract with the cell handling Antony (AWHC) waste ended in January next year.
Prevent kickback, opposition leader A C Vinayaraj said MCC had given approval for the DPR, where City Corporation had to spend almost RS 38 Crore to buy vehicles and equipment, and outsourcing operations and maintenance for almost Rs 52 Crore.
The proposal was approved, even though the proposal was worthy of being debated by the Mangaluru Ramakrishna mission.
There was corruption in the proposal, he told the media here on Thursday.
“In accordance with the agreement made by the powerful Congress at MCC, AWHC was asked to buy vehicles needed for waste collection and transportation, in addition to appointing their own staff.
However, according to the new DPR, City Corporation needs to spend a large number to buy vehicles and appoint staff Also, “he said.
Former MLA J R Lobo said that Mangala resource management, a beginning of the mission of Ramakrishna, has managed solid waste in the uppinangady industrial area, Karkala, MrPL and goodness.
Furthermore, the waste management in several temples will also be given at startup.
Although service-oriented startup with experience has offered to take waste collection for the minimum number, MCC has decided to outsource the process for RS 52 Crore, he said.
“MCC does not need to buy a vehicle if the contract is given to the Ramakrishna mission.
They have promised to manage business waste producing profits in five years.
They also offer to start the pilot’s waste collection in one ward for free.
However, City Corporation has ignored them, “Lobo said.
Former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde said MCC should form a subcommitte before making a decision to prepare new DPR.
