Mangaluru: Two is held for extortion

Mangaluru: Mangalore Police arrested two people in connection with extortion cases.
The defendant was identified as Azwin C M (24) and his friend Hatijamma aka Safna (23).
Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar told reporters on Wednesday that at 8:30 a.m.
on July 19, the defendant had attended a party in a complainery house.
The previous complainant worked abroad.
The defendant has mixed an insert in a complainant drink.
When he fainted, he took off clothes and the defendant allegedly took his photos and videos.
Furthermore, they were accused of stealing the ‘Navaratna’ ring from the hands of the complainant and Rs 2.12 lakh from the closet at his home.
The next day, when the complainant went to Azwin’s house and warned him to file a complaint against him, the defendant initially told him not to complain to the police and that he would return the number of the next day.
Then, he showed the video and the pictures they had taken and threatened to upload pictures on social media if he went to the police.
Azwin even threatened to submit a case against the victim who claimed that he tried to rape his sister.
The case in this case was submitted at the Ullal Police Station on July 23 and the defendant was arrested on Tuesday.
The police have recovered around RS 70,000 and cellphones from their ownership.
