In Goa, they are the perfect arrangement for unique celebrations, crocodile worship and boat festivals even as their potential for honey, vegetables and benefits of drugs need to be explored.

Some people realize that extracts from mangroves and species depend on rich in bio-active compounds, effective for the treatment of diseases.
But the nature of this drug and their full potential has not been investigated and utilized, G Untaware scientists have stated in a book written together.
Untawacale said that mangrove extract can treat a number of problems and diseases – toothache, sore throat, fungal infections, bleeding, fever, kidney stones, rheumatism and malaria.
Furthermore, studies by botanists and other people call for the right management plan, including restoration and conservation, which components are lost in CZMP.
The member of the Saisa Harmalkar team, from Chorao, said that many mangroves were missed on the map, which could make them open for manipulation.
In addition to Chorao Mangrove Swamps, which are protected as bird sanctures, other mangroves in Merces, Mapapaa, Curorim, Raia, Cumbarjua needs to be protected, they said.
The area that is cleaned from mangrove forests and is not protected requires protection.
“The marking of mangroves along the Goa River and the recovery of mangroves that are cleaned is important to capture Bundh’s violations and the entry of salt water in the fields,” said another team member, said another team member while presenting submissions in North Goa.
Ana Smriti Paes from Chicalim, a student and team member, said that reclamation has destroyed mangrove forests in many stretches from MPT to Louletim along the edge of Zuari.
Mangroves have also been referred to as ‘bona finders’ by former NIO scientists Simon D’Souza because they penetrated the land planted.
“This mangrove that has invaded the Tanah Khazan has not been identified in CZMP,” Pereira said.
The decline in growth is due to the failure of the government to defend the Bundh destroyed by barges or to serve the interests of Pisciculture.
“This (invasive mangrove) will die if Bundh is repaired.
Therefore, they must be surveyed and limited,” said Abhijit Prabhudesai from Rainbow Warriors.
