LASKO (Slovenia): Manika Batra India and Archana Kamath tasted their first great success as a pair of winning a women’s double title at WTT Contender Lasko here on Sunday.
Pairing number 36 The world defeated a combination of 23rd to Melanie Diaz and Adriana Diaz from Puerto Rico 11-3, 11-8, 12-10.
The Indian duo saved four game points in the third set to seal the match.
Manika and Archana had to explore deeply to defeat Liu Weishan and Wang Yidi China in the semifinals on Saturday.
In single women, Manika did well to reach the semifinals.
