Guwahati: BJP Manipur Legislator Pukhrem Saratchandra Singh from the Moirang Constituental Area in Bishnupur Regency has decided to join the Congress on Monday after he was rejected a ticket for the second time in the upcoming assembly selection.
A spokesman for Congress from Manipur said, “Only one BJP MLA, Saratchandra Singh, who was the former IAS officer, joined the Congress today.” BJP, which released a list of candidates on Sunday, has lowered the Deserter Mairembam Prithviraj Congress in place Saratchnadra Singh in Moirang.
In 2017 the election, Saratchandra had defeated Prhiviraj with a 375 voice margin.
Apart from Sartachandra Singh, BJP has not included two more MLAS MLAS M Rameshwar Singh (Kakching Constituency) and Y Erabot Singh (Constituency of Wangshei) in the list of candidates.
