Patna / Samastipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the ‘Sukhet Model’ of the Madhubani District in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program.
The Sukhet model was named after Village Sukhet in the Madhubani District where scientists were being carried out by scientists Dr.
Rajendra Prasad Central First University, Pusa (Samastipur).
“Under this project, garbage and dirt from houses are collected from the door to the door and then converted into vermicompost (organic fertilizer).
From the income generated from the sale of organic fertilizer, each family is given the LPG cylinder every two months in return waste and dirt Cow.
The project also provides employment to 14 people in the village, “Dr.
Ramesh Chandra Srivastava, Deputy Chancellor of the University, said.
“The Sukhet model does not only promote cleanliness, but also provides organic fertilizers to farmers.
It also helps the village in getting rid of pollution,” said PM.
He also appealed to Panchayats throughout the country to replicate the Sukhet model.
Dr.
Shrivastava said because the project was first implemented in Sukhet Village, it was called ‘Sukhet Model’.
Deputy Chancellor said that PM appreciation would increase the morale of all his team scientists and employees.
