New Delhi: Hindi Litterateur Mannu Bhandari, who wrote popular short stories and novels without sacrificing literary services and those who built new modern women and consciously in their work, died at Gurgaon Hospital on Monday.
He was 90.
“He suffered a series of strokes over the past few years.
He was weak but never lying in bed.
This time he was hospitalized for a fatal infection” his daughter Rachana Yadav, a dancer Kathak, told Tii.
The famous Hindi film director of Basu Chatterjee, with whom he shared a pleasant and durable relationship, changed the short story of Bhandari, Yehi Sach Hai, into features, Rajnigandha (1974).
This film is a critical and commercial success.
Basu Da’s Jeena Yahan (1979) was also based on his work, Ekhane Aakash Neyee.
Bhandari also wrote a dialogue for Swami (1977), the winners of other offices.
His novel, AAP Ka Bunty was made as Samay Ki Dhara (1986), who moved away from his original story and experienced legal issues.
Mahabhoj, a hard political novel, is widely staged as a game.
Born in Bhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, Bhandari received his master at the University of Banaras Hindu.
He also taught at Delhi University and married Editor-Editor Editor of Rajendra Yadav who died in 2013.
Both are pillars of the Nayee Kahani movement (new story).
