New Delhi: MP BJP Manoj Tiwari on Saturday held a ‘Pani Panchayat’ in the timarpur area where he interacted with people who face the water crisis.
Former Head of BJP Delhi has launched a campaign in the Northeast Delhi Parliamentary Constituency area to study the problem of water faced by people and overcome their problems.
“A large number of people in Delhi face a water crisis for decades and problems have not been handled and people suffer.
This revealed that the government was indifferent to such problems,” Tiwari said.
Tiwari emphasized that the purpose behind the holding ‘Pani Panchayat’ was not to do politics but to find a solution to the problem related to the water faced by people.
“I also invited the chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kelamwal and Local MLA for the meeting, but they did not appear,” said Tiwari.
Two representatives from the Board of Jal Delhi, the Delhi Government Agency responsible for drinking water supply to most of the capital, also participated in the meeting and recorded people raised by people.
A group of locals joined the meeting sharing their related water problems and many stated that they got dirty water through a tap.
Some of them also stated that they were forced to buy bottled water from the market because the water was dirty and the purchase of bottled water costs 1,500 to rs 3,000 per month.
Neelkant Bakshi, a BJP official, said that DJB officials participated in the meeting and recorded details of individual problems that ensured that the problem of water crisis would be seen and resolved as soon as possible.
