Wroclaw: Indian Women’s Ace Manu Bhaker Pistol and Iranian Olympic Champion who ruled Javad Foroadi won the Golden 10m Water Gun Mixed Team at the Prime Issf Presidential Cup here.
Indo-Iran’s couple got better than the French-Russian duo from Mathilde Lamolle and Artem Chernousov 16-8 in a gold medal match on Friday.
Bhaker and Foroupi were placed by one third in qualifying with a combined score of 582/600 to qualify for the first semi-final where they topped the four pairs of fields to reach the final.
Lamolle and Artem come by winning the second semi-finals.
Among other Indians in the field, Abhishek Verma paired with Urena Olena Kostevych to complete the sixth while the Saurabh Chaudhary and Swiss Heidi Gerber Diethelm couple also made it among the top eight semi-finalists to complete the seventh.
Yasaswini deskwal, fourth India in Fray and paired with Juraj Tuzinsky Slovakia, ended 10 among 12 teams in the competition.
The international mixed team was formed by ISSF randomly according to the lottery.
At other medals today, Lihao Sheng and Laura-Georgeta Ilie who Lihao Sheng and Romania won the 10M Rifle mixed team competition.
The Issf Prime President’s Cup is a version of the RECRILITY from the World Cup final, where the top 12 athletes this year according to the world ranking are invited to determine the best individual athletes this year in their respective Olympics.
Individual winners will be given a gold target along with gift money.
The cash award will also be given to all athletes in individual competitions.
