New Delhi: Top Indian Medal Contender in Tokyo Games, Ace Pistol Shooter Manu Bhaker on Friday said he had “worked very hard” for the past five years to win the Olympic gold.
Bhaker, 19, recently decided to turn off social media until the end of the Tokyo Olympics to focus on preparation and appearance in the match, starting July 23.
“To win the Olympic gold medal, I have worked very hard for the past five years now, and it is always my dream,” Bhaker said in the video posted by the Ministry of Sports.
Champion Rifle Shooter Abhinav Bindra remains the only individual gold medalist at the Olympics.
Countless medal winners at the top international shows, Bhaker thanked the government for the assistance offered to prepare in the best way.
“The government has been very helpful throughout the year of my photo shoot.
Every time we need equipment or ammunition for training purposes or pistols or anything, everything is resolved by the government,” said the Issf World Cup medal.
Bhaker is currently practicing in Croatia along with other members of the Indian team that is bound by the Olympics.
The shooters will fly to Tokyo before the match.
At the ISSF World Cup which was recently concluded in Osijek, Croatia, Bhaker has collaborated with Saurabh Chaudhary to win the 10 M Gold Water Gun Pistol team.
However, he ended seventh in the 25m gun event won by the shooter bound by other Olympics Rahi Sarnat.
Bhaker has won silver in an individual events of the 10m air gun at the Delhi World Cup new in March and 10 M Gold a mixed air gun, along with Chaudhary.
A gold medal winner in the prestigious ISSF World Cup final, the Youth Olympics and Commonwealth Games, gun shooters will enter Tokyo as one of the hopes of the biggest medal in India, after winning almost everything that can occur after starting his career.
Bhaker has been chosen for three events at the Olympics, scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 8.
