Pune: Shooter Manu Bhaker, who has a series of poor events at the Tokyo Olympics, will try to put Olympic disappointment behind and rearrange the target at the Junior Circuit once again.
Manu, 19, who shot last at the junior event in 2018, has been chosen to participate in the ISSF Junior World Championship, which will be held in Lima, Peru, from September 27.
Manu has been selected for five events – 10m water pistol, 25m sports gun and 10m pistol water gun, women’s 10m team and 25m women’s team – on the Premier event.
He will partner with Sarabjot Singh on a 10m mixture.
In Shotgun, Shaphath Bhardwaj, who has won Bronze at the 2017 Junior World Cup at the Double Trap event, has been chosen to represent the country at the trap event in Lima.
This will be Shaphath’s first international event for carrying out its transition to the trap, after a double trap is abolished from the Olympics.
