Bengaluru: While the government announced the reopening of schools and colleges from Monday, many institutions in the city plan to delay continuing offline classes for a week to give time to go beyond students to return.
On Saturday, the government announced the resumption of offline classes from Monday.
Many colleges immediately told students about developments and asked them to plan their trips while giving them a week to return to campus.
“We have told them to get ready to come.
We will only provide a buffer time a week after the government’s declaration,” said FR Abraham V, representative of Chancellor, Christ (considered as a university).
Until then, many colleges planned to continue with mixed mode.
“While local students can come to campus for clarification or other academic activities, outstation students can report back next Monday.
Until then, blendeded mode will continue,” said Raghu R, a spokesman for Mount Carmel College.
In the intimacy to his students, Maharani Cluster University also said it would be reopened on Friday to give enough time to outperform students to order tickets back to Bengaluru.
However, several other institutions such as SheshAdripuram the College title, where local residents consist of the majority of students, will start offline classes from Monday itself.
“We will decide on the mixture of a mixture depending on how the development is,” HN Meerera said, the principal.
Some other universities plan to continue the class on campus gradually.
“Our final semester exam will begin on Tuesday and we will reopen the second and third years.
First year students will continue with online classes because we do not want to be a big hurry on campus,” said Paul Newman, the principal of Santo Night Santo.
“Offline class on college days is likely in April when we waited for the Covid case down substantially,” he added.
Jyoti Nivas College also plans to continue the online class.
While the government’s order on the reopening class is still not issued, the University of Bengaluru said it would issue orders on Monday morning.
The University of Bangalore said while the class on campus for second year students will start from Monday, the first year classes are likely to begin next week, when the reception will be completed.
