Giridih: Maois blew the cellphone tower and burned one more in the Jharkhand Giridih district in early Saturday, police said.
The incident marked the first day of “Week Resistance” observed by Maois to protest the arrest of their leader’s Bose Prashant, a police officer said.
Maois initially burned the Airtel tower in the Khukhra police station area, he said.
It was confirmed that two Maoists arrived at a place on a motorcycle and arranged the tower over the fire, said the sub-division police (SDO) Dumri Manoj Kumar.
Around 1 in the morning, Maois blew the tower of the idea with a bomb in Madhuban, Jain’s pilgrimage site, he said.
“Maois pampered himself in violence because of despair because they had lost their land,” Kumar said.
