Aurangabad: Maois detonated a Panchayat building and the nearest mobile tower in the village of Yudahi under the Madanpur police station in the Aurangabad district on Monday night.
The incident only happened 11 days after Maois killed four family members under the Dumaria block in the neighboring style district on November 13 night.
According to sources, Maois planted explosives from the four sides of ‘Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan’ from Dakshin Umra Panchayat and blew it, damaging the building badly.
After that, they attacked the cellphone tower located next to the Panchayat building and burned it.
The set of tower generators is destroyed.
It was the first MAOIS incident after the announcement of Panchayat elections in the district.
Maois also planted Ied as possible to target police forces.
But the police found Ied, which was tamed later by the bomb disposal squad.
The source said Ied was very strong.
Supervisor Aurangabad Police (SP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra said two Maoist banners had recovered from that place.
“In accordance with the message written on a banner, Maois held this operation in protest against the meeting in Sukma and the arrest of the MAOIS Top Jharkhand Prashant Bose commander alias Kishan Da and his wife Sheela Marandi,” he said.
“All areas have been sealed and Raids are tracking Maois.
We have also searched for cooperation from neighboring districts in this matter,” SP added.
Both Bose and his wife were arrested in a joint operation carried out by Jharkhand and CRPF police.
Responding to their arrest, Maoist groups have announced three days Bharat Bandh from Monday to Thursday.
The IANS report quoted locals said that Maois threatened them to remain silent.
“Even though we told the police about Maois’s presence, security forces did not come to put out an ambush,” they said.
