Raipur: Maois has kidnapped seven people in the restrative Sukma District, a week before the rebels’ Martyrs’ Week ‘.
A group of villagers who went to the forest to save them was also gone.
While the police were looking for seven missing, former Maois was stabbed cruelly and hacked to death of around 65 km, in the adjacent bijapur district, on Tuesday.
Seven came from Kunded Village in the Jaggundunda area, a hotbed Maoist about 500 km from Raipur.
They were lost on Saturdays, but their families did not tell the police.
Even on Tuesday, when the police team set out to find them, there were no relatives who filed complaints.
The village population was afraid of Maois, more in such circumstances, and instead of telling a lot of police who tried to negotiate their liberation.
Sometimes it works, often not.
It was only on Monday that the word reached the police about missing villagers.
But when they reached out to family, some of them were reluctant to say the young men went to attend a wedding or work elsewhere.
The police did not rule out the possibility that Maois took them as a recruitment.
Meanwhile, in Bijapur, former Maois Raju Venjam, who had never given up formally, gave birth to his land in Paddedia Village when a group of rebels dragged him and killed him.
Maois The Gangaloor Area Committee has claimed responsibility.
