Hyderabad: A Maoist was allegedly involved in a jeeram attack at Chhattisgarh who killed 26 security personnel died in April 2021, surrendered before the Brass Telangana police here on Wednesday.
Overcoming a press conference, Director General of Police (DGP) Mahendar Reddy said Ravula Ranjith, 23, was involved in several incidents, including Jeeram attacks where 26 security personnel died in April.
Ranjith will be given Rs 4 Lakh for the surrender and number of RS 5,000 tokens given to him on Wednesday by the police.
Ranjith, who was the second generation Maoist as his parents were also involved in the left wing movement, decided to get out of the Maoist party because he was reportedly humiliated after his father’s death Ramanna aka Ravula Srinivas, a former member of the Central Committee and his secretary of the Special Zonal Committee.
Although the Ranjith family came from Warangal Regency, he spent most of his life in Chhattisgarh.
“He participated in four brutal attacks on security forces and one securities in addition to several other incidents during his underground life,” DGP Mahendar said.
The police claimed even though Ranjith did not tell them the definite amount of Maois suffered Covid-19, he confirmed that several cadres suffered a virus.
DGP said Haribushan’s death was confirmed by Ranjith as well.
When asked about the contradictory statement of Telangana police and CPI Maois at Sharada’s death, Haribushan’s wife, Mahendar Reddy clarified that he was still alive.
Of the 25 members of the Central Committee, 11 came from Telangana and three of Andhra Pradesh.
Until now, there were 120 members of the Maois Telangana state committee, but they did not have information about the appointment of the new state secretary in Haribushan.
“Until now, Damodar is the Secretary of Incharge,” said the police.
