Nashik: Daily medical oxygen consumption increased slightly from 3 metric tons (MT) on January 2 to 9 MT on January 12 in the district.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Health, the number of patients about oxygen support and ventilators has increased from 49 to 170 patients during the same period.
However, health authorities said they did not need to panic because most of the patients were active in the district in the house isolation.
The inpatient level is around 7% of the total active case in the district.
The Surgeon Ashok Thorat civil district said that even though cases rose, most patients were covid without symptoms and did not require oxygen.
Only 2.5% of the total patients need oxygen support and ventilators.
Bapaneb Nagargoje, medical supervisor of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC), said the level of hospitalization was low in the city of Nashik compared to active cases in the last 12 days.
In Nashik City, the number of active cases has increased from 236 on December 28 to more than 5,000 on January 12.
NMC officials said they had a total of 3,500 beds in various hospitals and Covid facilities managed by NMC, including 2,200 beds with oxygen support during the first wave, daily medical oxygen consumption has increased to 80 MT when the number of active cases increased to 28,000 active patients.
1,925 cases in Nashik district reported 1,925 cases of Covid-19, including 1,368 from Nashik City on Thursday, taking the case calculation to 4,24,768.
There were no deaths reported in the district on Thursday.
The toll of death stands at 8,766, including 4,030 deaths in the city.
A total of 814 patients were dismissed from all Nashik districts on Thursday, including 435 recovery in the city.
This district has 7,824 active cases, including 6,088 in the city of Nashik.
