Chennai: While Tamil Nadu reported a decline in new Covid infection, Chennai recorded a marginal increase in the case.
Officials said 835 people were tested positive for viral infections on Tuesday compared to 841 on Monday.
In Chennai, 131 people were tested positively on Tuesday compared to 126 days ago.
In the end, the country issued 924 patients and reported 12 deaths left 10,271 people in the registry of the active case.
On Tuesday, Chennai was the only district with more than 100 new cases.
Twenty-eight districts noted more than 20 new cases respectively.
Among these, 18 districts reported less than 10 cases.
Theni reported zero new cases and folders, tubkasi, and Ariyalur added two cases each.
There was a marginal increase between one and six cases in 17 districts compared to their Monday.
The sharpest increase was reported in Tirunelveli, where new cases rose from 6 Monday to 12 on Tuesday.
In Thanjavur, the case changed from 27 to 32.
With 98 new cases, Coimbatore stands second in a new case table.
Casimbatore cases also rose slightly from 94 on Tuesday.
Chengalpet reported 70 new cases, drop from 74 on Monday.
There are more than 1,000 active cases in Chennai (1,220) and Coimbatore (1,138).
Of the 12 deaths, Chennai reported four, followed by each in Coimbatore, Salem, Thanjavur, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Nagapattinam, Pulajottai and Dindigul.
The 1.2 lakh people vaccinated state on Tuesday prompted the calculation of a dose to 5.7 crores from a 11.7 crore dose targeted at government vaccination centers.
In addition, 26.8 Lakh people have taken vaccines in private hospitals since May.
