Hyderabad: Telangana High Court on Wednesday said Dalit Woman Mariamma’s Lock-up Death was a fit case for the CBI investigation and directed the CBI SP Hyderabad to be present before a court on November 22.
Satish Sharma head bench and justice Rajasheker Reddy gave this direction while hearing the Pil submitted by the People’s For Liberties General (PUCL) Jaya Vindhyala looking for a probe into Mariamma’s death, who died in police custody on June 18, 2021.
Mariamma was taken to the police Addagudur station Together with his son in connection with the case of theft.
The bench passed the first post-mortem report, a judicial judge report judicial and the second post-mortem report.
The bench also saw photographs folded by the applicant who showed an injury suffered by the son of Mariamma, which was allegedly beaten brutally by Addagudur police.
Addagudur fell under the Rachakonda police committee.
The bench recorded the difference between the findings given in the two post-mortem reports and said this was a fit case for the CBI investigation.
The bench also asked the applicant to sign the CBI and Indian unity as a party over this case.
The High Court has found a previous mistake with the state government to resolve the problem through Tahsildar and, instead, ordered an investigation through Judge Judicial.

When Advocate General BS Prasad looked for a copy of the report, Bench said it would be submitted to CBI SP.
