Vadodara: At 11 o’clock in the morning every Monday and Thursday for the following year, the Waghodiya police station sub-inspector will remain fixated on his cellphone that expects whatsapp calls that are important.
It would not be a call from a senior police department official, but from being accused of having a cheating case.
Strange, it might be heard but the defendant, a broker from Anand, has been ordered to mark his presence before the police through online facilities because the court allowed him to travel to Dubai for business purposes for one year.
Sanjay Shah’s allegations, who were accused of cheating several people in a housing scheme in Waghodiya, allowed conditional guarantees in February.
He was asked to deposit his passport with the court, marking his presence every Monday and Thursday at the Waghodiya police station and did not leave India.
But last month, Shah approached the court again to modify the condition of his guarantee when he planned to travel to Dubai for business purposes.
He told the court that he held a license in Dubai to do commercial business there so his condition deposited a passport with the court and was not traveling outside India would be removed or modified for a period of five years.
The court assessed the additional A J session to allow the application and modify the condition for a period of one year with a deposit of Rs 1 Lakh before the court of trial.
Shah, however, was not permitted not to mark the presence of his police so the court asked him to make whatsapp calls on Monday and Thursday at 11 am to sub-inspector and also shared the location of his Google with the police.
Sub-Inspector was also asked to report a court about this exercise at the end of each month until Shah returned to India and deposited the passport again.
Shah was also asked to keep his cellphone switch at any time and also share land numbers and two cellphone numbers from Dubai’s office managers or office staff to the police and the court before traveling to Dubai.
Sub-inspectors have been asked to provide a copy of the order to the Indian Embassy in Dubai for their information.
