LONDON: Australia Batsman Marnus Labuschagne has been forced to get out of the Glamorgan Blast match against Middlesex after compatriot Nick Selman was tested positive for Covid-19.
Selman, who received a reward of youth representatives for Queensland in Cricket and the Australian rules, had to spend 10 days in self-insulation, said Glamorgan.
“Batsman Nick Selman has tested the positive Coronavirus after the PCR test results.
He will now spend 10 days in self isolation,” Glamorgan said in a statement.
“The club also identified Labuschagne and Michael Neser as a potential contact close and took precautions to eliminate it from the match of the match day.” “All other team members, coaches, and staff returned negative results …” Labuschagne was Glamorgan’s top scorer but Neser had not played the game in the competition with the club chose Colin Ingram so far.
With a busy schedule, Australian duo can lose more T20 games, something that will inhibit Labuschagne’s offer for places in the T20 World Cup later this year.
