Palanpur: A married man and woman died because of suicide in the forest near the village of Samber Vadnagar Taluka in Banskictha on Tuesday morning.
The deceased – Brijesh Patel (32) and Sangeeta Thakor (30) – both married different people and were residents of Tunka Village at Unjha Taluka.
While Patel was a driver by the profession, Thakor used to work as a kitchen aid for a local catering.
The police said the duo’s body was found depending on the same cloth in a tree branch in the forest area near the village of Samber.
According to Sub-Inspector Tejas Desai, both Patel and Thakor know each other before they marry a different person.
They are both parents of two children.
Desai said that, when the deceased belonged to different caste, parents and community members they did not let them marry each other.
However, the duo continued their relationship even after marrying a different person.
The police said that the exact reason for the suicide of the couple was unknown.
