Chennai: The insurance broker and Marsh risk advisor has increased its share ownership in Indian Indian arm insurance brokers from 49 percent to 92 percent.
Formed in 2003, Marsh India is a joint venture between Marsh International Holdings Inc.
and trust rampart based in India.
With the approval of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irdai), Marsh has obtained a part of local partners, including all share ownership of Rampart Trust.
Alex Moczarski, Chair of Marsh McLennan International and Chair of the Marsh Council, said, “This investment will advance our leadership position in one of the most dynamic markets in the world.” By raising its shares in the Indian arm, the company aims to bring global expertise to support clients in India and will advance our leadership throughout the Asian region.
