“This is to check the possibility of defects in 181,754 units of these models produced between May 4, 2018 and October 27, 2020,” said the car maker in the submission of regulations.
The affected cars include CIAZ, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and XL6.
“For the benefit of customers, Maruti Suzuki has decided to voluntarily remember the affected vehicle for the inspection / replacement of the motor generator unit, free of charge.
The affected vehicle owner will receive communication from the Official Workshop Maruti Suzuki,” the company said in the submission of regulations.
What customers need to do: Replacement of the wrong parts free of costs and the process will start from the first week of 2021.
The company has asked to avoid parking the car in the water flooded area.
Customers from suspected vehicles can check the MSIL website, visit the ‘important customer info’ domain and enter the vehicle chassis number to check its status.
The chassis number can be obtained by the registration document or vehicle invoice.
The company will contact the affected customers.
