New Delhi: The largest car maker in the country Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
(MSIL) on Wednesday reported an increase of 5 percent of total sales at 1,30,699 units in August 2021, amid shortcomings of electronic components.
The company has sold 1,24,624 units in the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) said in a statement.
The total domestic sales were at 1,10,080 units, compared with 1,16,704 units in the same month last year, down 6 percent, he added.
“The sales volume of the company in August 2021 was affected due to lack of electronic components.
The company took all possible steps to limit the adverse effects,” he said.
While the sales volume in August 2021 was influenced due to lack of electronic components, the sales volume in August 2020 was influenced due to the related disruption of Covid-19, MSIL added.
Mini car sales consisting of Alto and S-Presso are at 20,461 units, compared to 19,709 units in the month according to last year.
However, the sale of compact cars, including Wagonr, Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire Tours was lower at 45,577 units last month, such as against 61,956 units in August 2020.
CIAZ sedan CIAZ sales cation 2,146 units, by opposing 1,223 units in the month last year.
Vehicle sales utility, consisting of Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, XL6 and Gypsy higher at 24,337 units compared to 21,030 units in the same month last year, Msil said.
Commercial vehicle sales of light Super Carry Stood at 2,588 units, such as opposing 2,292 units in August 2020, he added.
MSIL said his exports in August this year established at 20,619 units, compared with 7,920 units in the past year.
