Maruti Suzuki India to Increase car prices in July-September quarter amid rise in input Prices

NEW DELHI: The nation’s biggest auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said it’ll raise prices of its automobiles in the next quarter of this current financial due to gain in the input prices.
“Within the last year, the expense of the corporation’s vehicles are still negatively affected due to rise in several input expenses.
Thus, it is now critical for the company to pass some effects of the aforementioned additional cost to clients through a cost increase,” Maruti Suzuki India stated in a regulatory filing.
The company didn’t disclose that the quantum of their proposed price increase.
The purchase price increase was proposed in the next quarter (July-September interval ) of the present fiscal year and the growth will change for different versions, the business added.
On April 16, Maruti Suzuki declared the weighted average cost increase in ex-Showroom Costs (Delhi) throughout versions of 1.6 percent.
On January 18 this year, the automaker had declared price increase of pick models by around Rs 34,000 because of increase in input prices.
MSI sells a selection of versions from entry-level hatchback Alto into S-CROSS, priced between $ 2.99 lakh and Rs 12.39 (ex-showroom costs Delhi) lakh, respectively.
