Bengaluru: India’s top car maker Maruti Suzuki said on Thursday that it expects total vehicle production in October in two plants to around 60% of the normal level due to the lack of global chip.
Booming demand for consumer electronics and supply chain disorders around the world have caused acute chip deficiency, forcing a number of car companies to drastically cut production when they try to secure limited semiconductor supplies.
Maruti and Mahindra and Mahindra rivals have also warned attack on their production for September due to lack.
Factory Haryana Maruti and his contract manufacturing company, Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private, will see the production sidewalk in October, the company said in submission of regulations on Thursday.
In August, said that the total production volume in both locations could be around 40% of normal output in September.
Because of the problem in this industry, the car maker focuses on making a high margin model and has continued several costs to customers.
