Mary Kom Sees her sixth gold medal in Asian Boxing Championships

DUBAI: Six-time world winner MC Mary Kom (51kg) will search her first gold if she squares off from Kazakhstan’s Nazym Kyzaibay from the girls 51kg closing of the Asian Boxing Championships on Sunday.
The 38-year-old Olympic-bound Mary Kom had prevailed 4-1 over Mongolia’s Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg at the semifinals on Thursday.
She’ll face a stiff challenge by the two-time world winner Kyzaibay from the summit clash.
Another Olympic-bound fighter Pooja Rani, that obtained a walk-over from the semi-finals, will struggle from an in-form Mavluda Movlonova of Uzbekistan, that stopped the battle of London Olympics medallist Marina Volnova at the last-4 period.
Anupama (+81kg) and also Lalbuatsahi (64kg) may also face powerful Kazakh boxers in their respective finals.
On Monday, defending winner Amit Panghal (52kg), Shiva Thapa (64kg) and Sanjeet (91kg) will likely be observed in action from the men’s gold-medal bouts on Monday.
