Mary Komom Magnificent Down Fighting in Pre-Quarter Olympics

Tokyo: How to finally lose despite winning? It sounds weird? This is what happened to one of India’s biggest sportsmen at his last Olympics.
World Champion six Time MC Mary Kom (51kg) (51kg) The second Olympic medal ended in the Tokyo game pre-quarter-finals as he went to the 2016 Edition-Efrit-Efrit-Efrit edition with a fierce fierce battle here on Thursday.
The funny part, Mary Kom actually won two of the three rounds.
“I don’t know what happened, I thought in the first half, we both tried to find out our strategy and I won the next two,” said legend who was confused after the fight.
India trailed 4-1 in the opening round with four of the five judges scored 10-9 for Valencia.
In the next two rounds, Mary Kom received three of the five judges to master her aid but the overall score still supports Valencia.
Manipuri also won the third round but again, it was 3-2 and not 4-1 which he needed to swing the final score in supporting him.
The 38-year-old child, who is a multiple Asian champion and a bronze winner from the 2012 London Olympics, lost 2-3 for Colombia, giving it all in what is now his last Olympic battle.
Mary Kom had tears in his eyes and a big smile on his face when the referee raised Valencia’s hand at the end of the fight, fatigue after intense clashes.
The way Valencia rushed in when the first bell rang, it was quite clear that the fight would be high voltage and exactly as it turned out.
Both of them attacked each other from Word Go and Valencia seemed to be determined to reply to the previous two losses with icons.
Veteran Manipuri fought back to claim the second and third half, landed the right hook to perfection.
He also deserves credit to keep the intensity consistently high despite drying fighting.
“I don’t understand this assessment system, how he lost the first round 1-4 when almost no one separated the two,” said the national assistant coach and private coach Mary Komote Lal Yadav to PTI.
“This is disappointing but it’s good luck, I think,” he added.
Indians previously beat Valencia in the 2019 quarter-finals of the World Championship.
Like Mary Kom, Valencia’s 32-year-old was a trailblazer for his country.
He was the first female boxer to represent Colombia at the Olympics, as well as the nation’s first female boxer to win the Olympic medal.
