Masala jowar bread is now a hot favorite in northern carnataka

Raichur: A cook in Lingasugur from the Raichur district has given a delicious and fashionable touch to Jowar bread, a lot of fun for culinary lovers.
The signature dish by Veerabhadrayyaswami Patrimath, 32, has managed to get to the meeting menu such as birthday, home heating, and naming / wedding ceremony.

Patrimath, who lives on the Tudkal on the outskirts of Lingasugur, told Tii that he began experimenting to give the usual Jowar Rotti like ‘Masala Papad’ (starter at the restaurant) a year ago.
“Like Jowar Bread is a healthier alternative to Papad, we fried Khadak Rot, prepared 2-3 days earlier, and decorate it with chopped vegetables, Chutney and Masala powder.
When we prepared our unique delicacy, the pandemic struck, leaving us without Social meetings to serve.
But when we did it, we began to push Masala Jowar Rotis, and the customer responded positively.

Krishna Prasad G, an Agri-marketing expert from Mysuru, said that he tasted Masala Jowar’s bread during a home heating ceremony in Lingasugur.
“Jowar bread is not new for people from North Karnataka because of their staple.
But elsewhere in the state, people find it difficult to consume.
However, this new delicacy is delicious, crunchy, and interesting too.
Such efforts will add value to jowar bread Indigenous, “he added.
Malikarjun Hosapalya, an agricultural writer from Tumakuru, said even though Masala bread was fried in oil, it looked dry.
“Even though it was filled with Chutney powder, it wasn’t too stinging.
If entering the restaurant throughout the state, the popularity and demand for Jowar Rotis will increase,” he said.
Ningayya, who prefers this delicacy for his family’s program, said Masala Jowar Rotis the price is a little more than normal.
“But because we don’t need to serve two Bhajis with this Rotti, it makes economic sense,” he said.
Prasad said he had plans to invite Patrimath against food in MySuru, Bengaluru and other cities.
“We want to encourage and support Jowar farmers with this initiative,” he added.
