Karachi: A massive fire broke out in the Karachi Cooperative Market on Sunday night, destroying at least 35 stores in the area, reported local media.
The operation to extinguish the fire is currently underway with a fire tender and the team is present in place.
More help from all fire department stations throughout the city have been sought, report Geo News.
Help Navy Pakistan has also been sought to extinguish the fire.
A Pakistani Navy spokesman said that assistance was given at the request of civil administration.
Official law enforcement agencies and Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal is at the location to monitor firefighters, said Geo News.
Memon said that Inferno has been declared “third-level fire” and detailed that there are around 300-400 stores on the market, which “35 has been completely broken hearted”.
So far, the cause of the fire is still unknown.
Memon says that it will be early to comment on the current problem.
