Mumbai: A 22-year-old child, one of the two allegations of the mastermind from the daytime murder from a Deforician jewelry, was tracked to Madhya Pradesh on Saturday and held with his colleagues.
Police said Bunty Patidar from MP targeted Shailendra Pandey’s store because of its proximity to the Western Express Highway, because it would facilitate fast runaway.
Patidar and Pramod Atriya (24) were held from Pithampur, 30km from Indore.
On July 30, Ayush S P striker, Nikhil Chandal and Uday Bali had broken into Jewellers Om Sai Raj Pandey and fired two rounds, killing him.
Police said Patidar had arranged the attackers (all of MP), gave them weapons and made them practice shooting in the MP forest for weeks before the robbery.
Four months ago, the attackers had tried to loot shops in Gujarat.
Finally, they had to do anything by stealing two cars, one of them ran out of fuel while driving a vehicle to MP.
The gang wants to attack again, and this time it works.
“Patidar went down to Mumbai a month back, where he and other mastermind, chirag rawal, went looking for a target.
It was decided that his rawal and aide, Ankit Mahadik (both locals) would keep 40% of booty, while Patidar and the attackers would get 60%.
The attackers arrived in Mumbai two days before the robbery and stole a scooter to go up to the jewelry store.
But the night before, Patidar called them and said Pandey would be shot first and the shop was robbed later, if not jewelry would activate the electronic key and Close the store, “said an officer.
After the murder, the attackers left a scooter in Kashimira and rented a car to travel to the letter, where they hid in a relative house.
The police took the trio, in addition to Rawal and Mahadik, within a day on July 1.
Weapons were found dumped in mud near the letter, and police hunting for others.
“We will question Patidar to set if he has another motive for the murder,” said Senior Pravin Patil Inspector.
The police said Rawal, who lived in an apartment in Dahisar, helped his father at the factory of making their switches in Vasai, while Mahadik was a boys delivery with food applications.
